Orange Cafe, an all-day Canadian comfort food establishment, has been delighting customers since 2002. Offering a diverse menu featuring breakfast classics like eggs Benedict and fluffy pancakes, as well as savory lunch options and refreshing cocktails.
The project involved redesigning Orange Cafe’s branding system, aiming to create something more modern and current for a brand facelift.
I began by researching information about Orange Cafe before delving into logo design details. The process started with crafting the logo, which served as the foundation for establishing a cohesive visual identity. My design strategy aimed to create a modern yet approachable brand image that would resonate with diners. Throughout the process, I consistently returned to the concept of using a circle motif, inspired by the shape of an orange fruit. The portrayal of a hollow orange circle emerged as a central element of the brand’s aesthetic. Its geometric simplicity ensures immediate recognition, making it suitable for various applications.
Despite the saturated market of cafe shop logos posing challenges, the Orange Cafe branding design was impactful and successful. A significant obstacle was distinguishing the brand from competitors. To tackle this, I prioritized creating a simple yet attention-grabbing logo. Through extensive design explorations, I ensured the final outcome resonated with Orange Cafe’s target audience and effectively communicated the desired brand message.
